Giovanni Osuna, Co-director
Women of Hope co-director Giovanni Osuna grew up in Guatemala City, but spent much of his adult life in the US. Now back in his homeland, he brings the unique perspective of his experiences in both countries to grow and improve the mission with his wife Tina. Giovanni wants to bring hope to the next generation and see them develop a deeper relationship with the Lord.
As we expand our reach outside the center, Giovanni found resources bringing fortified rice and other food into Guatemala. In the summer of 2015 he started a feeding program for needy children in one of the poorest areas of our village and coordinates with several volunteers to feed more than 50 children twice weekly. He hopes to start other feeding programs in our area each year. He encourages the project volunteers to share Christ with the children and nourish their souls while feeding their physical bodies.
Giovanni is hoping to develop a couple of new projects to help employ more women, particularly widows with small children. He has raised chickens and pigs with several widows, empowering them to sustain their families and keep their children in school for a brighter future. He also works with several teams throughout the year translating for conferences, clinics and other projects.

Pray for the children coming to the feeding project in Santiagito and for consistent volunteers to help cook, serve and clean for the lunches. Pray also for Giovanni as he considers potential new projects. Pray for his work as a translator with various teams throughout the year.
Join him in praying for his daily growth in the Lord and for protection over he and Tina in their life and marriage.
