Design: Intern will assist in all aspects of the design process, from concept design, sourcing, costing, purchasing, sample/pattern making & documentation, to production. In country, Guatemala only.
Photography/Video: Some aspects can be done in the US, organize and lead style photo shoot and product shoots. Other aspects only done in Guatemala, take video/photo footage to use in creation of promotional videos and other print/digital materials.
Event Coordination: US only, research, plan and implement exhibitor events for WoH to promote and sell products. Could also include finding wholesale opportunities for our products.
We have had volunteers come for 1-2 weeks, up to a year. One young woman gave a year to WoH designing jewelry & graphic design for our initial website. According to Kelly, not only did she contribute greatly to our ministry, she also gained much, “working with Women of Hope gave me the opportunity [not only] to get outside of my normal life & routine, but also to really discoverr who I was as a person.”
Opportunities in any of these roles can be full time, while living in Guatemala - minimum 6 months, though 1 year would be awesome. OR certain ones, like communications, marketing and some photography, can be done from the US on a full or part time basis.
If you are interested in an area, though not sure you can commit to live in Guatemala, let’s talk! Some areas could be a volunteer role from the US or a short trip to Guatemala!
To live/work in Guatemala, you can raise missionary support. We will help prepare you to raise support and live in country. Spanish knowledge a huge plus, though classes would be required to learn at least the basics.
